A woman who paid more than £1k for a ticket for Creamfields ticket says she will never return

A woman who spent £1,000 on a ticket for Creamfields spent 24 hours at the festival before calling it quits and vowing to never go to another event like it.
Festival goer Julie spent £1,027 on a four-day bronze camping ticket for the festival in Daresbury, Cheshire, which is the largest and most prestigious electronic dance music festival in the UK.
Julie and her friend decided to book a large pre-pitched tepee tent to avoid lugging equipment into the festival, which came with access to a proper toilet rather than a portaloo in the campsites.

But despite forking out more than £1,000, Julie very quickly decided that it “wasn’t the vibe” for her, opting to leave after 24 hours at the festival, sharing pictures of the muddy conditions on site.
August Bank Holiday weekend has seen thunderstorms, strong winds and sudden heavy downpours batter large parts of the UK, including Cheshire where Creamfields was taking place.
Images from Creamfields showed areas of the festival with heavy footfall becoming particularly waterlogged during the opening day.
Due to the forecast weather, organisers reportedly laid down bark chipping and hay across the main festival areas in a bid to tackle the adverse weather conditions, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Julie said: “Never again. £1,027 for a ticket, pre pitched tent and outfits, fill tank of fuel. Creamfields 2026 [will] definitely be a touchy subject for a while.
“That’s not even with everything else I brought, essentials etc, I might cry.”
The festival posted on social media: “Currently there are some muddy areas of ground on site. While the ground is still generally good and won’t stop you dancing we strongly advise wearing good waterproof footwear.”
Scores of people responded to the festivalgoer’s post, though opinions were divided over her decision to leave due to wet clothing and mud.
One commenter wrote: “You only need wellies and waterproofs and its fine its all part of the experience.”
A second said: “We arrived at Download Festival on the Wednesday ten minutes after we pitched tents up it rained non stop until about midday on the Monday! Old clothes, wellies, waterproofs, bin bag over suits with packing tape seams. Pitch the tents with the entrance facing downhill. Adapt overcome enjoy! Or be a utter wuss!”.
A third noted: “Creamfields has always been a mud bath, saying that global gathering ended up being a mud bath a few times.”
However, some commenters were more sympathetic towards Julie. One person wrote: “My daughter there now in silver camping currently soaked, muddy and starving due to queues I can sympathise with you.”
Another responded: “I camped once, lasted 24hrs also. I get a hotel now.”
A third simply stated: “Welcome to festivals, overpriced and muddy.”
With over 250 artists set to perform across multiple stages, Creamfields is expected to draw a crowd of approximately 80,000 attendees.
