Disney has managed to screw up every single release from their 20th Century Studios.
The latest is Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars.”
Last night’s previews brought in only $850,000. That news plus a 40% rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes spells a quick end to this bizarre film.
Not even a stellar cast — Josh Brolin, Jacob Elordi — could save it. At this rate, opening weekend numbers will be under $10 million.
Another one bites the dust.
“Dog Stars” was beaten by cartoon characters from two different movies– Spider Man — headed to $900 million this weekend — and the wonderful “Coyote vs. Acme.”
It’s not a good look.

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what’s going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too. They are just another facet of keeping fact based journalism alive.
