Disturbing one-off documentary that hears testimony from survivors of grooming

For decades, evidence has been mounting that tens of thousands of young girls are being groomed, intimidated, drugged, raped and blackmailed by criminal gangs. Even after the Rochdale and other grooming scandals, the police and safeguarding services are still ignoring them, blaming them and treating them like criminals.
This film lets the brave testimony of some of these young women, including Christine, speak for itself. ‘I had to go to school like nothing had happened,’ says one of the victims, who come from all over the UK including London, Coventry and Manchester, and even the rural South West. ‘I was so scared to tell anyone.’
Shockingly, as well as recounting their own harrowing experiences, they also reveal how their abusers are continuing to groom girls, some as young as nine or ten, while police still refuse to take them seriously, dismissing them as simply troubled teenagers. We also hear from campaigners and charity leaders, including former Deputy Children’s Commissioner Sue Berelowitz, who describe how their pleas for action have fallen on deaf ears.
