One of the most historic pubs in Warwickshire will close next week as it undergoes a six-figure refurbishment.
The Garrick in Stratford-upon-Avon town centre is thought to date back to the 14th century..
Based on the High Street, the Greene King pub will temporarily close from Monday, September 14 and will reopen next month.

Greene King said the refurb would keep all the things that made the venue unique while adding a few mod-cons.
A spokesman said: “The Grade II listed pub will retain all its historic character and quirkiness while some modern-day comforts are added. There will be improvements inside and out to make the most of the pub’s natural features, preserving its heritage while boosting appeal to today’s customers.
“The pub will remain a popular choice for tourists, friends and families with a good range of food and drinks menus to suit all appetites, diets and occasions, whether customers are stopping by for a drink with colleagues, lunchtime refreshments after touring the historic town.”
The Garrick is looking for people to join its team in the kitchen and bar with full and part-time job opportunities.
