Those responsible for Dan Markel’s killing were convicted after a legal process that took over 11 years. In a few words, the family of Wendi Adelson, Dan Markel’s ex-wife, put together a murder-for-hire scheme. Investigators discovered that Wendi’s brother and mother, Charlie and Donna, hired Sigfredo Garcia and Luis Rivera to kill Dan, with Katherine Magbanua acting as the intermediary. After a lengthy trial, they were all convicted and are now serving their sentences.
