Birmingham City Council wants locals of the Druids Heath area to take part in their upcoming consultation on plans to regenerate the area.
Proposals were put forward to built 3,500 homes, which were approved back in October 2025, before being called following legal action.
Since then, the proposals have changed to include an increase in social rented housing the scheme will deliver, from 11.4 per cent to 20 per cent.

Councillor Baber Baz, Cabinet Member for Housing and Homelessness at Birmingham City Council, said: “The consultation period has opened for residents of the Druids Heath area to give their thoughts and opinions on our masterplan to regenerate and bring up to 3,500 new homes to local people.
“I would encourage people to take part before the 7 October deadline.
“Support is available through Planning Aid England and Loconomy, and information on how to give your views is also available on the Druid Heaths website.”

The consultation is due to run until 7 October, with feedback encouraged via the Druids Heath Together website.
Birmingham City Council are asking those interested and affected to fill in their feedback so it will be heard.

The Druids Heath plans explained
Since the plans were first approved back in 2018, locals have taken taken umbrage with them for fear of being priced out of the area once work is complete.
However, the council has committed to building over 1,700 affordable homes in the development, which is 51 per cent of the whole proposal.
Additionally, they say this will contribute to the council target of building 51,000 homes across Birmingham by 2031.
Back in April, the project suffered a delay, with the legal challenge resulting in the original decision to give the scheme planning permission being quashed.
In a statement at the time, the council claimed there was “concern about misinformation” circulating about the regeneration scheme.
“To give residents more time and clarity, the council will delay taking its planning application to the planning committee to carry out further engagement,” it went on to confirm.
“Residents may have seen a range of information circulating about Druids Heath in the lead-up to planning committee in April 2026,” a spokesperson for the council said.
“Much of this has been inaccurate or misleading, and we recognise that it has caused unnecessary concern for some residents.
“We want to be clear. Our commitment to investing in the area and supporting the existing community is unchanged.
“While not every element of the scheme can be finalised at this stage, the direction of travel is clear.
“This is a long-term programme that will deliver significant improvements for residents, and we are fully committed to seeing it through.”
