The promotional campaign for S S Rajamouli’s Varanasi is reportedly beginning to feel repetitive and predictable.
While the film has generated enormous curiosity because of the combination of Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the promotional strategy so far appears to be lacking fresh content.
Interviews are being conducted roughly once a month, but the same three faces — Rajamouli, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran — continue to dominate the conversations.
The bigger issue is that very little new information seems to be coming out of each interaction.
The promotional discussions repeatedly return to the same talking points, making it difficult for audiences to find something fresh or exciting in every new interview. Instead of building anticipation, the repetition could eventually have the opposite effect.
Mahesh Babu playing Lord Rama and the film’s story spanning from 7000 BC to 2027 are being discussed again and again.
These points are already familiar to audiences, and constantly revisiting them may not add much value.
Considering the massive scale of Varanasi, fans may expect the makers to reveal new aspects of the film, behind-the-scenes details or fresh promotional material to keep the excitement alive until release.
