National Television Awards 2026: The Worst-Dressed UK Stars

The U.K.’s 2026 National Television Awards have come and gone, and many of the stars who graced the red carpet looked incredible. However, some … not so much. In fact, there were a few who left us with the question, “Why?”

Obviously, we had to start with Katie Price, because no one had us asking “Why” quite as much as the legendary socialite. So wacky was Price’s full look that her makeup artist has even clarified that it wasn’t quite his personal taste. However, even the out-there makeup highlighting her dramatic plastic surgery transformation didn’t distract from the, ahem, interesting ensemble, which consisted of an oversized white men’s shirt tucked into lace panties and black tights, which were worn with open-toed heels, no less. 

In a way, we kind of want to give Price her flowers, because no one could ever accuse her of playing it safe or not going all out for the event (a far worse offense in our book). Still, it all felt a bit too costumey for a normal red carpet. Then again, it is Price, so we probably shouldn’t rule out the possibility of her wearing it for a trip to the supermarket either. 

Katie Price didn’t just pick her own lewk for the NTAs. She also selected the gown that her daughter, Princess Andre, wore — and for that reason, we’ll give the 19-year-old some grace. Still, our first thought when seeing the dress was that the teen had gotten lost en route to prom. 

Evidently, that was intentional, because the brand that made the ballgown has subsequently promoted the frothy and embellished blue creation as a prom dress. We’ve got to give it to the mother-daughter duo, because whether or not we loved the lewks, they definitely know how to keep us talking!

We can overlook a 19-year-old wearing a frou-frou dress picked out for her by her mom, but unfortunately, Princess Andre wasn’t the only NTAs attendee to don a dress fit for prom. “The Only Way is Essex” and “Celebrity Big Brother” alum Amy Childs’ pastel lime green pick featured not just floral embellishments, but visible boning and draping around the hips, too. The fabric didn’t photograph particularly well, either, which meant the skirt ended up looking like a quick DIY rather than a carefully planned part of the dress. 

Childs’ hair and makeup were gorg, but even that couldn’t save this pastel faux pas. 

Look, maybe we missed the memo, and the dress code for the 2026 NTAs was “prom,” because seriously — “Love Island” cast member Priya Jaswal too?

Jaswal doesn’t typically miss, and she’s had a number of super chic non-red carpet formal looks in the past, so the bedazzled gown she wore for the awards caught us off guard. What’s more, in addition to the rhinestones, the dress also featured imitation mesh and a laced-up back. 

Granted, Jaswal looked gorgeous in it (and her hair, makeup, and body were tea), but we just couldn’t move past the prommyness of it all. 

On paper, “Coronation Street” star Tina O’Brien’s dress was a lovely idea. However, the execution left something to be desired. Not quite a naked dress (and honestly, thank goodness, because never has a risqué trend become so boring), but also not discreet enough to not be noticed, the underdress overwhelmed what could otherwise have been a very pretty pick. 

Add to that the exposed corsetry, and it’s obvious the dress is meant to walk the line between sultry and sweet. However, we’re not sure either worked out. 

There’s no denying Shona McGarty looked incredible at the 2026 NTAs, but at this point, we’ve seen enough naked dresses to last a lifetime. Two, probably. 

We’ll give the actor props for her confidence (and she does look great), but we can’t remember the last time a naked dress on the red carpet was actually surprising, which lands this pick firmly in the “boring and expected” category. And, like we said, that’s downright egregious. 

Michael McIntyre may be one of the richest comedians on British television, but evidently, that doesn’t translate to great style. The “Britain’s Got Talent” alum wore a black suit, which would be frustratingly boring at the best of times, but rather than making the funnyman look classic … it kind of looked like he was meant to be at a funeral. That his tie was also askew while he posed for pictures with his award only made things worse. 

It’s possible fit played a big role in this one being such a miss, because “Hell’s Kitchen” star Gordon Ramsay also wore a black suit and managed to look more suave than morbid. 

Jeff Hordley made headlines for his sweet acceptance speech at the NTAs, and we almost want to give him a pass for his bank clerk-esque lewk for the evening. We will give the “Emmerdale” star some props for skipping the black, unlike Michael McIntyre, and we really want to like his patterned tie. However, everything about the look screams “bank clerk” rather than “award-winning TV star,” and we just can’t get past that. 

Steve McFadden won big at the NTAs in 2025, and was suitably kitted out in a suit and dress shirt when he accepted his award on stage. Fast-forward to 2026, though, and evidently he decided against dressing up again. 

On one hand, we kind of want to give him props for making a statement. However, just as we’ve said some of Adam Sandler’s borderline inappropriate outfits come across a tad rude, we’re also raising our eyebrows at this particular sartorial choice. 

Then again, maybe he did get the memo about the dress code and figured he’d go as the prom chaperone.
