Fireworks night at Trent Bridge
November (and October) are set to go with a bang with dazzling firework displays and roaring bonfires in and around Nottingham.
As well as events marking Bonfire Night on November 5, displays will span from the end of October to November 8.
The anniversary marks the foiled 1605 Gunpowder Plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament.
There’s no official event within Nottingham city centre anymore due to cost-cutting by the council and the annual event in Papplewick has been axed this year after the parish council agreed they could no longer afford to run it.
But there are still plenty of organised displays to look forward to and there are a couple that are free to enter.

Saturday, October 24
Hucknall
The fireworks display in Hucknall kicks off October half-term in style. As well as fireworks, revellers can look forward to a funfair, food, a fully licensed bar and games.
The “massive” pyromusical display starts at 8pm but gates open at 5.30pm. No sparklers are allowed for health and safety reasons.
While there is no general parking on-site there is plenty of parking in the town centre, or it’s a five-minute walk from bus and tram stops and the railway station.

Saturday, October 31
Nottingham Racecourse
Two autumnal festivities come together for one huge event with fireworks and spooky thrills.
The Halloween Spooktacular will be a frightfully good night filled with dazzling fireworks, spooky surprises, enchanting music, and unforgettable Halloween fun.
The family-friendly event will also have traditional funfair rides and food stalls. Be sure to don your best Halloween costume for a chance to win prizes and embrace the spooky atmosphere as the racecourse transforms into a Halloween wonderland.
Gates open at 4pm and fireworks start at 7pm. Parking is limited so visitors are urged to use public transport where possible and arrive early to avoid queues.

Sunday, November 1
Norwood Park
The historic grounds of the Georgian country estate are the setting for an event that promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with fireworks and food and drink.
Warm up by the bonfire with a seasonal hot drink and be amazed by a breathtaking fire dancer performance before watching the night sky light up with a spectacular fireworks display.
Local food vendors will be selling their wares. Gates open from 4pm, with the bonfire lighting at 5.30pm and fireworks at 7pm.
VIP tickets have already sold out. As there is limited parking on-site, this will be on a first-come, first-served basis. No sparklers are allowed.

The Renaissance at Kelham Hall
Newark’s biggest firework display will be taking place in the beautiful 42-acre grounds of the historic hall. After four previous sell-out events, capacity is being increased but another full crowd is expected so visitors are warned to buy tickets in good time.
As well as the display, spectators can look forward to food and drink stalls, fairground rides, live entertainers and photo opportunities with the glow dancers, who will be roaming the grounds, and fire performers.
Gates open at 4pm and the fireworks will begin at 7.45pm. Limited free on-site parking is available.

Clipstone Headstocks
New for 2026 is a laser night show, alongside a firework display against the backdrop of the headstocks.
There will be plenty to enjoy throughout the evening, including a bonfire, live music, funfair rides, a craft market and a selection of food vendors and a bar, from 4pm to 9pm.

Thursday, November 5
Mansfield Town FC
Mansfield’s ticket-only fireworks display is one of the few actually taking place on Bonfire Night. The fireworks show will begin at the One Call Stadium at 7pm, with gates opening at 5pm for attendees to enjoy the fairground and stalls in the car park.
Sandy’s Bar & Kitchen, located at the rear of the Ian Greaves Stand, will be open throughout the evening. The Radford Foundation Marquee will also be open from 5pm while refreshment kiosks will be open inside the stadium.
Seating will be allocated. Spectators are asked to arrive by 6.30pm to enable the fireworks extravaganza to start promptly.
Due to the fairground and stalls, parking will be extremely limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis, priced £9 per vehicle. Book via the ticket office in person, call 01623 482 482 (option one) or email parking@mansfieldtown.net.

West Park
The council-run annual bonfire and fireworks display set to music will be taking place in the Long Eaton park. There’s also a funfair.

Friday, November 6
Trent Bridge Cricket Ground
Now in its fourth year, the extravaganza promises to be bigger and better this year with not one, not two but three nights.
Having sold out in the three previous years, the fun will start on Friday, November 6 at 8pm, with a display set to a soundtrack of Ibiza Classics. (Also see entries for November 7 and 8 below).
The events will be accompanied by 15 of the finest street food traders in and around Nottingham, live DJ performances and family entertainment.
Food lovers are in for a treat with a diverse range of cuisines and street food favourites to explore, from smoky Texas-style barbecue and award-winning fried chicken to vibrant Indian, Persian, Malaysian, Italian and Greek dishes.
Alongside the international flavours, visitors can sample locally made confectionery, freshly baked treats, craft beers and artisan coffee.
“We’ve been blown away by the popularity of all of our street food events at Trent Bridge, but our fireworks nights are the ones we look forward to most of all,” said Aaron Wilson, of Notts Street Food.
Doors will open two hours prior to the firework finale each night, allowing visitors ample time to sample dishes from the street food traders in attendance.

The Gedling Inn
This year’s theme for the pub’s pyromusical display is In the Movies. The event will have an indoor and outdoor bar, plus a bonfire night snack menu.
The fun will kick off from 5pm and tickets sell out fast. In fact, the new family tickets on offer this year have already been snapped up before September’s out.

The Longbow
A family-friendly night, that’s completely free, from 5pm to 9pm. There will be a bonfire and fireworks and all they ask is that visitors pop in the pub for a drink or something to eat.
“If you’ve joined us before, you’ll know we always put on a spectacular show. We love being able to keep this a free community event. Every purchase really does help us towards the huge cost of putting the night on.
“The bigger the turnout, the better the atmosphere — and your support helps us keep putting on events like this for our community,” they said.
Burgers, hotdogs, chips and mushy peas will be on sale. For youngsters, who don’t like the loud fireworks, there will be a kids’ disco inside.

Trent Bridge Cricket Ground

Sutton-in-Ashfield
Sparks in the Park returns for an evening of spectacular fireworks and family fun. As well as a colourful display, other highlights are a funfair, music from a DJ and for the first time, a selection of market traders.

Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre
Watch the night sky come alive at the fireworks extravaganza. The evening will also encompass entertainment, food and drink, and traditional fairground fun.
Visitors will also be able to take a ride on the miniature railway and enjoy the traditional heritage fairground.
Gates open at 4.30pm, with the firework display at 7.30pm. Tickets are limited.

The Garage
If you want all the fun of Bonfire Night without the fireworks, The Garage is hosting its annual celebration with fire pits, hog roasts, and street food.
Cocktails and beer will be on sale at the bar and there will be live music promising a great atmosphere from 5pm to 10pm.

Walesby Forest
The Light up the Night event is back once again. Billed as ‘Nottinghamshire’s most anticipated firework event’, the evening promises two firework displays, including ones aimed at younger audiences and anyone sensitive to loud noises, at 6.45pm.
The second is the showstopping finale with big bangs, starting at 8pm. Gates open from 5pm with a funfair, food vendors and live music from The Killers tribute band, The Fillers.
In-between there will be entertainment with a Can Can fire show at 7.15pm. Free parking is available. No sparklers are allowed.
As a charity, Light Up the Night, uses the funds it makes on the night towards providing young people with unique and memorable experiences, whilst preserving the woodland for generations to come.
